Is it okay not to talk everyday in an LDR?

Sometimes I wonder if it’s okay that my boyfriend seems to have days or weeks he doesn’t feel like talking that much. Part of me will get insecure wondering if he’s no longer interested and the other part thinks it’s healthy to have moments of separation. I just leave him alone and hope we talk more the next day. Wondering how everyone else feels.

My fiance and I did long distance for 5 years. We never talked everyday. Ever. We had a weekly Skype date and then we'd try to have a phone call at least once a week as well. We don't really text and we were long distance while we were in university. We didn't have time for spending hours on the phone every night. And there were times we'd go weeks without talking but that wasn't good so we implemented weekly Skype dates to put an end to that. There were also times when one of us needed space to focus on school or one of us wasn't feeling great so we'd miss a date. 
Long distance is hard and takes a lot of communication. I really suggest talking to your boyfriend about how you're feeling and then work together to find a solution that works for the both of you.
