Genetic testing

Who on here didn’t get the genetic testing done? In my area it’s called the Penta5 and tests for Downs, the other trisomy disorders, and two others (can’t recall off the top of my head).

I would get it done, although the results wouldn’t make me terminate. I just like to be prepared. However, my insurance doesn’t cover any maternity care until I reach my deductible so I would have to pay for it all out of pocket (priced around $2000).

Insurance rant: I am SO frustrated. We pay hundreds of dollars a month FOR WHAT? Why is it that people who pay more month by month end up paying more for the actual services too?! It makes absolutely no sense. I paid over $6,000 last year for coverage and the visits I had would have cost me so much less coming out of pocket. I would have opted to not be covered this year but I knew I was going to try to get pregnant so I picked the best maternity plan offered by the network my husband gets through work AND IT IS STILL CRAP. I’m so fed up with this health care system in America.
