How do I come out as lesbian to my family ??

So I’m lesbian and I don’t know how to come out to my family. I’m really scared on how they will react but I just want to tell them bc I’m really proud of it. But I’m scared my parents will kick me out ? I just wanted to know if you could give me advice on how to come out to them. Thx

As proud as you are (and should be!), your number one concern is safety. Try bringing up the subject, like “hey mom there’s a pride rally in (whatever state), sounds cool right?” to test the waters. My parents are not accepting of queer people at all, so I’m still in the closet even though I’m 17. I want you to be out and free, but if you think your safety is at stake then I would keep it to yourself. I’m sorry :(

I agree, safety comes first. But if you come out to your parents it is very important to educate them on the topic (aka. your life xD) and talk to them about everything. Most parents are worried at first because they don't know a lot about what it means to be gay. It is this big foreign thing to a lot of them and the more they know, the more normal it can be ^^ ........tbh good parents should love and accept you no matter what, so if you want to do this, I wish you the best of luck!!! You deserve to be yourself and happy. I was scared too to come out to my mum as a lesbian back in the day. Turned out I worried over nothing at all!
