can I take baby outside?

I'm a FTM, is it okay to take 2 week old outside on my porch for short periods of time? she would be protected in the shade. Grandma keeps insisting she will get sids if I take her outside.

thank you guys! I thought everything was fine but then grandma was in tears stating, her lungs were going to give out on her because of the heat, I got worried I was doing something wrong.

I took my baby all over at 2 weeks. We went to the grocery store and the bank, we even went to a birthday party for a short time when he was two weeks old.
He’s five months and doing just fine!

Babies live outside in grass huts in some countries. That baby will be just fine, fresh air is good for everybody!

definitely! My daughter always sleeps better after some fresh air. in fact within the first 2 days of having her home she took a 3 hour nap in the shade with my dad!

My baby has never been cooped up. He loves the grass and the sun! If anything the fresh air will help prevent, and the light can reduce jaundice.
