Anyone have any past experience with getting induced?

I'm getting induced at 38 weeks. I have gestational diabetes. I'm currently 35 weeks. My baby was estimated to weigh 6lbs 8oz at 34 weeks.... I'm very nervous as this is my first baby. Just wanting to know what to expect and if u ladies can offer me any advice. 😉

I was induced with my son at 39+3 days due to his size, they monitored me and the baby for an hour, then started pitocin. I went in at 6am, contractions were very mild until they broke my water around 1pm. I dilated to 10cm by 3:30pm and had him at 3:39pm. Honestly it didn't feel like it hurt anymore with this baby then my first which I went into labor on my own. I'm currently 37+5 weeks with my 3rd and will be getting induced at 39 weeks for the same reason. Well wishes for a healthy delivery for you and your baby!

I was induced with my first. We were 42+5 when they decided to do it. Went in on a Tuesday morning, not even dilated. They had to give me some kind of pill, then a day later started the pitocin, after stalling labor because they gave me Tylenol for my headache (I hadn't eaten or drank any caffeine in 2 days). I got an epidural Wednesday night, and at 10 pm my water broke on its own. I pushed 3 times and my son was here, at 4:50 am, Thursday morning. 3 weeks late exactly.

I can tell you that after a failed induction and enduring 32 hours of labor I am very glad this one will be another c section. Pitocin contractions are horribly painful and I was screaming for an epidural at 2 cm.

If they break your water for you it can cause the contractions to be much harder on you. I was induced with cervidil and pitocin in my water broke on its own right before I started pushing. I advise against letting them break your water but that's up to you

I was induced - the doctor broke my water and gave me some medicine to start labor. The baby was a few days late and the amniotic fluid was low. In my case, contractions were sudden and they came out of no where. I don't want to scare you, but it was the worst pain I've ever been in. I think it may have been because there was no build up to the sudden strong contractions. I got an epidural (which had been in my plan from the beginning) within 15 minutes and that was awesome. Instant pain relief. Please don't let story scare you. Every experience is different. Good luck!! You can do it!!

I was induced early due to a small baby. I did pitocin and walked around for about 5 hours, finally got an epidural for the remaining 4-5 hours. Pushed a few times and my daughter was born. 
I don't know if pitocin contractions are worse than natural ones. They did hurt but I was still able to talk and walk. I pray my next delivery is as smooth. As well as yours - good luck!

I have had natural labors and also been induced. My induction, just shy of 2 years ago, was not bad at all.  I was actually joking with my husband during the pushing phase, with no epidural. For me, it was no worse than my natural labors.  Actually,  I think that had been my best and easiest labor and delivery.  He was 8 pounds, 12 days early.

I do! Got induced with my first at 41 weeks. Had been dilated to 4cm for a month but never had contractions. Went in at 6am and got an IV with fluids and pitocin. Within an hour I was having period like cramps. Then they slowly got stronger. The whole time the monitored both mine and my daughter's vitals.

Soon I couldn't take the pain and got an epidural! It was kinda scary because he hit a nerve and my left leg started jumping. But man it was nice having relief. Mine had a button to push if/when I needed more. Had my daughter at 3:26.

My best advice is to get the epidural lol I've heard contractions from inductions are way worse and they definitely were back to back.
