introducing bottle?

I had my daughter 10 days ago and we have been exclusively breastfeeding. everything is going great, but my doctor told me I need to pump the side that I'm not nursing on ( she falls asleep at the boob) and store it (which I am not against), he also told me to introduce a bottle before 3 weeks or she won't take it??? I wasn't planning on introducing it to her until at least 1-2 months. what are your opinions as nursing mothers?

The lactation consultant told me I could start introducing a bottle at about 4-6 weeks. She suggested just an ounce or so in the afternoon as a "snack" bottle to start. We did that every so often starting at around 4 weeks with my son, and he had no problem taking the bottle.

My lactation consultant told me to introduce a bottle at 3 weeks since her latch was good and she was nursing well.  She told me that most people wait until right before going back to work to introduce a bottle and then are struggling if the LO doent accept the bottle.  She gets one a few times a week and it also let's my husband feed/bond with her.  Those days I also pump an extra time so I'm not using my stash that I'm building for when I go back to work and this way me and my hubby can maybe go on a date night soon and not worry about timing everything around when the little one eats since we can leave a bottle for whoever watches her.

Introduce the bottle once BF is well established. This amount of time can be different for everyone. That’s why there’s so many varying opinions.

Start early and regularly offer a bottle. 
As soon as you have established a good latch and supply, offer a bottle here and there. Just make sure not to go too long between bottles. (Maybe once or twice a week at least, or maybe a small amount each day, whatever works for you)
My son would take the odd bottle from me between 2 - 8ish weeks. Then I ended up not giving him any bottles for a while because I’m a SAHM and just didn’t need to. Well I guess he either forgot how to use a bottle, or just got so used to exclusively breastfeeding that when I eventually tried to give him a bottle again he refused, and continued to refuse them for several months. I finally did get him drinking from a sippy cup with a straw.
