Buying baby stuff before TTC?

We're planning on purchasing big items used since a lot of the high quality things we want are out of our range. (Thinking of craigslist and we have a baby consignment store with awesome deals) and we're wanting to cloth diaper. I know that can be a little pricey and I've seen some excellent deals in my town reselling used... I figured if we purchase a little at a time, when we find great deals, we could save quite a bit and give our future baby more quality items. Does that make sense, or am I crazy?
