Getting tubes tied.

I am interested in having tubes tied. After having my third daughter I feel like I am done having children. Has anyone had this done not directly after given birth. I gave birth 6 months ago and now am thinking about proceeding with the procedure. How did it go for you? Any complications? How fast did you heal? Etc. basically your experience. Also do you regret getting it done?
