idk if im wrong

So today was my baby shower. And I got 2 gift cards. One was worth $50 and the other was worth $25 I also got $40 in cash...... Well his mom made my bf take it out of the cards so she could hold onto it and now she's making me go with her tomorrow to make sure I pick out something for the baby.... Does that sound like she don't trust me with the money? Or am I being paranoid? I need a bathtub for her. An outfit for all the kids for hospital pictures and I was gonna save the rest for formula
