What do you do when your doctor doesn’t deliver at the hospital that’s near your house

😩😩😩 I had this doctors which I really like but it’s in a whole different city and she doesn’t deliver in my hospital city I don’t know what to do from here

Either plan to give birth at the hospital where your doctor is if that's an option, or find a new doctor in your city 🤷🏼‍♀️

How far away is this doctor? My OB is over an hour away but I will still see him and deliver at that hospital despite the drive. I would rather have a good doctor that I like vs try to find another one closer to me. Hes delivered both of my daughters and been there through 2 losses with me so I wouldnt change it.

That's something I consider when selecting a dr. My dr delivers at both hospitals so I can go to either. Some don't deliver in the hospital period.

The hospital I delivered at was over an hour from my house. My OBGYN was awesome and the hospital was great. It was worth the drive for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

im almost in the same boat. i live in pittsburgh right now and am 16 weeks. we are moving an hour and a half away next month. I explained that to my dr. i will still come into the city for my dr. appointments and we discussed being induced so we can plan it with being far away and all our family in pittsburgh. i was induced with both my other kids. she said as it gets close to due date she will give me a copy of all the records from this pregnancy incase i go into labor early and cant make it to Pittsburgh. i hope that wont happen but you cant control it. lol

I’m driving an hour to deliver because that’s where my doctor works. I could go to the one 10 minutes away, or either of the ones that are about 15 minutes away, but the doctors there didn’t have very good reviews. So, you have to choose what’s more important for you personally, staying with the doctor you like, or going to the closer hospital.
