I worked with a Polina and it was more Po-leena vs Paulina would be Paw-leena

I would pronounce them the same, but I would look at the first one and think “this kids parents can’t spell”

I pronounce them differently. Polina is Poe-LEE-nuh, and Paulina is PAW-lee-nuh. 
I prefer Polina or Pollina, just because I find the name Paul unattractive.
