If you naturally have a lighter period they work very well! Before my IUD I basically used only the “light” tampons and maybe one day with a “regular” one to put it in perspective. If you are on the heavy side they would be good for backup or to replace panty liners as you don’t need to worry about ruining your underwear. 
One thing - you do need to get used to rinsing and squeezing out the blood before you put it in the wash. I would just do it in the shower and it never really bothered me - but it might others. I loved not having to put something inside myself and not needing much inthe way of period products.

Not Thinx, but I’ve been using Dear Kates for a few years now. I wear them as a backup to my Diva Cup on heavy days and wear them by themselves (or sometimes with a Lunapads liner on my light days.
