quick question

So my husband and I have been ttc for about 5 months now with no luck. This month my period was supposed to start the 21st. I've had nothing but brown discharge since I started and maybe very light actually bleeding. The brown discharge is on the lighter side I've been able to wear panty liners instead of a tampon. I am now 3 days into my "period" and don't know whether I should be concerned or what. I haven't taken a pregnancy test because I hate the feeling of getting a negative. I also have had light cramps instead of very harsh ones like usually. any advice ?
