Question about Progesterone Deficiency?

Question

I recently suffered 2 miscarriages in a row, and my doc suspects a progesterone deficiency. Should I be tested for my levels while ttc, or do I have to be already pregnant? Not sure what my next step is to see if this is the issue...and I don’t want an unnecessary appointment/bill if it’s something they can’t tell until I’m pregnant anyway!

I was tested in my luetal phase and they found that my levels were low. So she is recommending progesterone for me.

My doctor tested me 3 and 5 days after ovulation to track my levels. Turns out I was very low on progesterone which caused our first miscarriage. I am now on supplements. Good luck to you!

I would get checked now. Progesterone problems can affect conception and cause miscarriages. If it’s low take supplements ahead so time to prevent it

Pretty sure they’ll test your levels while TTC - Call your doctor and let them know the situation and details on your cycle as they’ll need to test at a certain point during your luteal phase. If your cycles are ~28 days and you ovulate on CD 14 then I believe they’ll test CD 21 (don’t quote me on this!). But if you’re different from that you’ll need to let them know when you ovulated and your typical luteal phase length. Mine is extremely short and so are my cycles so I’m thinking it’s a progesterone issue. Seeing my doctor about it tomorrow. Let me know how it goes! 🤞✨✨
