Period Pain

I’m 21 years old and my periods have always been regular, albeit painful with my late teen years being the most painful.

I have extremely bad pain that ibuprofen and midol rarely fix, but it is only on the FIRST day. The bleeding lasts no more than 3-5 days. I have no bleeding other times during the month.

I just wanted to know if this is normal for anyone else. I have read that more serious underlying causes usually present more very painful days and longer periods.

I have also heard that Aleve helps more and may try that.
