Food ideas for birthday party?

Ashley • 👧🏽🧑🏽

I’m having a creative mind block. We are having our daughter’s birthday at the local petting zoo in the morning. There is no electricity and we have the party area for 2 & 1/2 hours.

What would you serve people to eat?

My plan was to let people arrive, kids play, people snack, do cake, presents, then give people the freedom to explore the park without having to come back to party area unless they needed snack or water refills.

Good or bad? We have gone to parties before where we arrive drop off present in party area then explore and have to be back by certain time and cake/present time is rushed.

Input please!!

i personally wouldn’t do it at a petting zoo. at least the food part of it. kids can get really sick by putting their hands in their mouth after touching animals. i’m sorry but to me that is a horrible idea. i know sometimes it just slips people’s minds! but please keep that in mind

heck yeah!! lol i love snacks!! and i didn’t even think about that lol. eat there then!! just do it before letting everyone go and play! and maybe since it’s in the morning and kids are picky and i don’t remember what specifically you said i think something about not having power? but maybe do like a breakfast buffet or something?? idk lol

It starts at 9:30 and ends at noon so technically we don’t have to offer food. I never know what is normal tho.... I figured snacks along with cupcakes would be appreciated

I thought about that too!! That’s why I was leaning towards eating first then letting kids go off with their families.

We had my daughter’s at a local park under a pavilion. We got a tray of chicken fingers and fries. People came, ate, played. About an hour in we told everyone we were about to do cake and presents. It was great.
