On Sunday we had our gender reveal and found out we are having a boy. Now that we know the gender my SO and I have been talking about names. Yesterday while we were talking he mentions that he wants/ is adding his mother’s maiden name.

Now this is a huge issue for me as I do not get along with his mother at all, as she’s made very nasty comments to me in the past. His family had made it very clear that they don’t accept me.

This threw me off as we’ve spoken about this before and decided that our baby will have both of our last names, first mine than his. Now I will not accept adding his mother’s first name as I feel it is disrespectful towards my mother who has been nothing but helpful for us as his mother is absent.

Am I wrong ?
