When did you get your first ultrasound done?

My ultrasound was scheduled for 11 weeks but it got canceled due to a staffing issue at the hospital. I’m on a wait list for another available slot but I’m nervous because I was supposed to go at 10 weeks and it’s getting pushed back. It’s my first and I haven’t seen a doctor yet except to confirm the pregnancy at week 5. When did you get your first ultrasound done? I just want to make sure everything is ok with the baby!!

On the bright side your first ultrasound will look more like a baby since you waited a little longer! Imagine how happy you’ll be when you have a definite shape to see 🙂

No ultrasound until 18-22 weeks for the anatomy scan 🤷‍♀️. If they can hear the heartbeat at the 9-11 week appointment then there is no ultrasound.  The other reason they might schedule one is to determine due date for irregular cycles etc.  Try not to stress too much about not getting an ultrasound when expected- some people do it much later!

6-7 weeks for a viability scan, then another at 10 weeks 3 days for genetic testing and gender, then another at 12 weeks

Mine was at 6 weeks but we did ivf. So it was through my ivf clinic. Most OBs don’t see you until around 12 weeks.

6 weeks but that’s because I had spotting and one sided cramps so they scanned me to rule out ectopic. I’m in the UK and usually you don’t get scanned until 12 weeks unless you have any bleeding or other complications. My 12 week scan is in n Tuesday x

I got my done a 8 weeks to confirm a healthy viable pregnancy. They literally won’t even see until your 8 weeks. I had a different doctor with my son and she saw me at 5 weeks didn’t see anything but a sac so I came in the next week and my little peanut was floating around in their. I honestly think it depends on what the doctor wants to do, some believe come in ASAP so we can make sure your all good and others are like no your fine until this amount of time.
