i cried while about to have sex, HELP!!

okay so i’m a virgin, and last night me and my boyfriend got a little frisky and we agreed to have sex for the first time , we’ll he goes to put a condom on and I STARTED CRYING LIKE A LITTLE BITCH. i couldn’t help it , like i wanted to do it with him but i just don’t think i can let go of that part of myself yet, and i feel kind of stupid. but at least he supported me and held me while i cried and said that i was sorry. but i just need some reassurance that this is normal and i’m not just a freak
