How do you entertain your babies?

Question

My baby wants to be entertained all the time. I lay him on his activity mat a lot, and he likes for me to walk around with him so he can look at stuff on our walls. We read to him every day, but he doesn't seem to like it much yet. He also doesn't like chilling in the rock n play. How do you keep your May baby entertained?

I rotate through stations while my LO is awake. In no particular order I read him a book, let him practice standing on me and looking around the room, lay him down under the playmat or a blanket to practice grabbing objects, tummy time, outside time in his boppy lounger. I switch the activity when he gets tired. He is only up for about an hour at a time so I get things done around the house when he naps.

My son will be 3 months in a few days. I take him outside of our home and walk around the driveway. He sees cars drive by and people walk their dogs. Once school starts up again will go out in the morning and afternoon so he can see the kids go and come home from school.

I do a station approach too for those times between nap/feed.  First play time is in his play room - tummy time, grasping, etc - whatever he wants to do (sometimes he just like to lay there and chat and coo lol).  Second play time is a sit on the porch where I just tell him what I’m seeing.  Third play time is usually a walk in the carrier where again I’m just talking as we walk.  Fourth play time is always back to tummy time and activity mats.  From there his naps gets shorter so it’s more variable - he often sits on my lap while we eat at the table, he has daddy time every night where they sing and goof off, we always do a short last tummy time of the day, etc.

We also vary activities. He's awake for an hour at a time, so our first activity is always a walk in the stroller with the dog. He just lays in the bassinet attachment and enjoys listening to the sounds of the world lol. He never falls asleep in the stroller so we count that as an activity and come home for nap time. Then after that pretty much whatever I feel like doing haha. So sometimes he goes on the mat to play with the hanging toys or tummy time. Sometimes I show him black and white high contrast pictures. I show him books of baby faces (he LOVES looking at pictures of other babies it's so funny he goes crazy and coos and smiles). Most of the time I just lay with him and talk to him, make faces, play with his feet. Im addicted to his cooing and he's super vocal so I just can't get enough of it haha.
