Long Distance Success Stories?

So, I am in highschool. Maybe I don't know what I am talking about but I love my boyfriend with all of my heart. We have a 2 year age gap and he is going off to college this year, we've been together for about 8 months and it just breaks me to think about him leaving. We were friends for a very long time and then we started dating knowing that he would leave and I didn't think i'd fall so hard for him. I'm just wondering if anyone has any stories of successful long distance relationships that have worked just to reassure me because I know the odds are against us. He will only be about 3 hours away but he'll be busy and I don't know, I'm going to miss him so much.
