antibiotics and BC

hello lovelies, so I just got prescribed antibiotics for strep throat and I was wondering how long it will effect my birth control. if I'm taking the antibiotics for a week should I just skip my BC for the week and start back up after or should I keep taking it? and how long will I have to wait before my BC is in full effect again?

I totally forgot to ask my Dr. all of this at the appointment so I was hoping someone here could help me.
