Can we use this name?

My husband and I like the name Major but our last name is Guess so his name would be Major Guess. His brothers name is Maverick and I love how Maverick and Major sound together but am concerned Major Guess is a name that will be get a lot of grief.

Maybe use Major as a middle name but call him that? It’s cute with his big Bro’s name 😉

Honestly no matter what you name your child they will most likely still be bullied. kids are cruel in general. I got bullied for my name and its common. very common. if you like the name use it. Kids should be taught coping skills anyways when it comes to kids. they will always find a way to make fun of someone

I voted no, but I do want to tell the story of a student I had who was Major Love.  That kid had the kindest and most social personality and did well making himself known (in a good way) in a school of 4000 students.  But he just had a great attitude all around.  I know I heard some kids tease him once about his name combination and he would never even entertain and could let it slide off his shoulders in the most admirable way.  That is the only Major I have known and it was paired with a last name that was doomed for talk and teasing, but he rocked it.  I do love Maverick, but maybe just look for some other options. 
Our last name is Moe...so I totally get the name pairing.  I live the name Micah, but Micah Moe just does not do well.
