Side sleeping?! Is it safe?!

Help mommas!! My boy is going to be 5 months in a week. Suddenly he only likes to sleep on his side. 😑🙄. He wakes up instantly when I turn him on his back. He can roll from his belly to his back and back to side. I know the back is best but I need sleep. Is this ok?! Pic for attention

If he can move around it’s fine 😊
My son has been sleeping on his side since he was 3 months. No matter what I tried, he’d roll to his side. I checked on him frequently because he couldn’t fully roll and I got nervous. 
Now at 5 months I’ll still let him down on his back and if he’s already sleeping he’ll wake up, give me a dirty look, roll to his side and go right back to sleep  lol

If he can roll himself all directions, he should be fine. Side is better than tummy, imo.

My 5 month old won’t sleep on his back. He only wants to sleep on his tummy no matter how many times I turn him on his back he always flips back. He has great head control and rolls ver well all directions and is starting to crawl so I’m not worried about him sleeping on his tummy.
