When to tell my new boss I’m pregnant

Question

I am a full time nanny. I leave my current position to start with a family with a newborn in one month. 
I was hired for this new position before I became/understood I am pregnant. (I’m 5 weeks now) 
Should I tell them now before I officially start? 
It’s still early, so I haven’t told anyone but my husbands parents and my parents. I just feel like I should tell her because if I withheld this information she may be angry later on... although I was hired already? Just didn’t start yet.

hmm,  that's tricky.  I would probably tell her?  explain it's still very early on, and you JUST found out... but that you're still very interested and very able to do the job.   at least that allows her to make the plan... no awkwardness later... and shows you're honest.

I would wait to tell them until you have your first appointment. But you definitely should tell them sooner than later so they have time to figure out what to do.

I would just tell them. I work in a school and I told my Head Teacher quite early on. She really appreciated knowing a long time in advance so she could make arrangements. It also means they they were aware so any issues they were very understanding. You will have appointments etc that you will need to attend. 😊

I would tell them. Most families hire a nanny with the intention that she work for x amount of time at minimum. Have you discussed employment length with your family? My last family had the expectation of a year minimum and I knew that prior to starting.
