NIGHT SHIFTS DURING PREGNANCY
I am looking for some genuine advice... I am 5 weeks now and have had to inform my work due to the profession I am in posing a lot of dangers.
I have been made office bound however am being expected to still do a shift pattern of earlies lates and nights sat at a desk.
Other colleagues that I know have been taken off nights as soon as they found out they were pregnant. But currently my supervisory are saying I can remain on these shifts until I am physically unable.
I am already feeling sleepy come 3pm so how I am going to manage nights is beyond me?!?!
I have done some reading and studies and research have suggested working nights can be negative on pregnancy. It can cause preterm birth, miscarriage low birth weight and a few others.
I am going to go to my doctor to seek a letter advising my employer... has anyone else been in this situation?!
Thanks xx
