Am i doing something wrong or does it just take time?

My boyfriend and I started having unprotected sex 5 months ago and have sex at least 4 days a week. We are trying to get pregnant but it’s just not happening, so I was wondering if maybe there is something we are doing wrong or if it just takes time.

Are you tracking your ovulation using opks or temping? if not, start. itll help a ton. it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive tho so dont worry just yet.

The first question that comes to mind is have you been on birth control before?  If so, how long did you take it and how recently did you stop?  I ask this two parter because I’ve read articles that claim prolonged contraceptive use can significantly delay ones ability to get pregnant after they stop taking it… some up to 3 years.  I don’t say this to scare you, so please don’t take it that way, but instead to ideally give you hope that it WILL happen, and that there’s likely not a single thing wrong (i.e. sterile) with you or your partner... or that either of you are doing anything wrong.  If not, I would check with your OBGYN to make sure all your lady plumbing is happy and ready to get to making you two a baby.  Although you might not feel any pain or have glaring symptoms, some female reproductive disorders can fly under the radar until times like these.  Again I truly hope I haven’t scared you or added to your worries - I wish you two the absolute best!!

It takes healthy couples on average a year to conceive and there is only around 35% chance to conceive every cycle and that varies. If you’re not tracking ovulation and just having sex it can take longer as you may not even be ovulating or ovulate early/late.
