Will Giving My Breastfed Baby A Bottle Ruin Breastfeeding

Question

I currently have been breastfeeding for 14 days but I’m thinking about pumping & storing so I’m able to have others in my family help with the feedings.
This is my first time breastfeeding & it’s going really well. I’m afraid that if I introduce my newborn baby to a bottle she won’t want to take my boob to feed.
I love the connection I have with my baby when I’m feeding her and that has taken over me wanting to leave her. But if I can give her a bottle & still successfully breastfeed then that would give me a little time for myself & have others help.

I’d look into paced feeding. It mimics breastfeeding so it helps avoid nipple confusion and preference. We use Avent natural bottles with the first flow nipples (#0) so our daughter still has to work for the milk like she would with breastfeeding and she goes back and forth between bottles and breast.

Nah, mine didn’t have any issues either. We found out at 2 weeks that she had a dairy allergy and did formula for a week while I worked on getting it out of my system. When we switched back to breast, LO barely noticed a difference.

Once breastfeeding is well established switching between nursing and bottles shouldn’t be a problem, but every baby is different no guarantees. 
Also keep in mind though that pumping before your supply has regulated can cause an oversupply which can lead to engorgement and other complications. It’s recommended waiting 4-6 weeks before starting to pump regularly.

I never had a problem giving my newborn a bottle and still breastfeeding, i am using the playtex bottles and nipples. She prolly had her first bottle at 2 weeks or maybe a bit sooner
