can a boy be in love that quickly?

I met that guy at a party and I don't know if it was love at first sight for him but he quickly started hittin on me. then we texted like a month without seeing each other and finally we dated. on our second date he told me he loves me. For me it is impossible to love someone that quickly...so I wonder whether he really means it or try to please me (he loves to be loved by everybody) then to sleep with me easily or he just doesn't take that seriously and thinks like and love is the same? (I just want to add that I am french and to like and to love is the same word in french however when we say it, usually it means "love")
