Helpppp?? milk decreased??

Question

I am 10, going on 11 days pp.
My milk had been doing good til recently. I "power pumped" like my Lactation consultant suggested and 2 hours later at my next session, I don't even get one ml out of a breast when I've been getting 10ml a session. Did the power pumping mess me up for my next session? or is my milk drying up? I've been noticing a slight decrease over the last 3 days. That's why she suggested the power pumping to try and get my supply up. Please help.
I'm having to solely pump bc my son is in the NICU.

Play around with the suction settings and think how a baby would suck in mind. Fast and then a steady long pulls but nothing to strong don't want to hurt your self also hand expression works to get it started too. Don't give up stay hydrated, eat a lot, oatmeal is so good, and remember at the end of the day fed is best. I didn't start producing until 4+ days after birth. Good luck and happy milking 🤗

It can help if you can be near your baby when you pump. Is there space at NICU for you to pump? Maybe ask the nurses there for a place you can pump next to your LO. If you can't be near your LO, looking at pictures or a video can help. It may help to try hand expression to get your letdown happening and then to put the pump on. There is a great YouTube video from Birmingham Women's Hospital called "neonatal unit - how to hand express" which shows and explains a really good technique. Warm compresses just before your feed will also help. And massaging your breasts as you pump will help you extract more milk. If you can, skin to skin contact with your LO will raise your oxytocin levels which will help your milk production. Ask to see the lactation consultant at your hospital as they will be able to give you some guidance

Are you also direct latching baby? Baby is more effective than a pump usually, and pump output isn’t a great indicator of supply. Do as much skin to skin as you can, pump every 2 hours from start time to start time, power pump once a day. Make sure you’re drinking a ton of water, and eating enough good calories. If you are directly latching also pump on the opposite side, then pump the side baby latched on, even if you don’t get anything it still stimulates you’re breasts to make more.
