I was 25 and about to have my second csection. I told the surgeon I wanted to be fixed and he talked me out of it saying I’d want more kids and I’d regret it. I was happy with my two boys and was certain I didn’t want more children with anyone, ever, but my surgeon made me second guess my choice so I decided not to. I then had my second boy, decided to go to nursing school, finished top of my class and 4 days later I found out I was pregnant while I was on birth control. For the first week I felt like my life was over. I worked so hard to finish nursing school for my boys and before I can even begin, I’m pregnant again. I don’t want another baby but I can’t bring myself to not have it. Now I’m scrambling to get my nursing license so I can work and make enough for maternity leave. Honestly if I could go back in time I’d have been fixed. I am excited for the 3rd baby but at the same time I wish it never happened. It shouldn’t have happened. I am getting fixed this time. No doubt about it. I think if you’re 100% certain then do it. I think about if, in the future, my partner and I split up and I fall in love with a man who has no kids and wants kids, would I be okay with never being able to give him that. I have been with my boyfriend for 8 years and he’s the father of all 3 of my kids and I never want to be without him but I have to think of the “what if’s”.

I'm 25 years old. Have a girl & a boy & my last boy on the way. Due Aug 29th. I'm also getting my tubes tied. no I don't think u too young. if your done having kids n decide u don't want nomore, that's your decision and that's your body. I wouldn't care what no one else thinks. Good luck!

I am 26 and have 3 kids, a 4 year old and twins. I thought after having my twins I was going to get my tubes tied. But my husband decided he would get a vasectomy instead. My ob suggested I waited Incase I regretted in later in life. But you do what you feel is right!

I am 24 I have a 4yr old girl and a 1 1/2 yr old boy, with another girl on the way...my doctor recommended me tying my tubes but idk if I'm ready for that..I do know that i dont want anymore kids as of now and i dont want to have a big age gap between my youngest and if I were to ever have another...at this point I'm like "I'm completely done" but what if you know...my husband says hes down for 4 kids all together but I'm not quite sure he knows wtf hes talking about since I deal with them 95% of the time

I believe having your tubes tied can always be reversed as long as they aren't burned close. 🤔 idk, I'd look it up. I'm 21 and will be having my 3rd baby in January. I will 100% be having my tubes tied. 3 is enough for me.

I want my husband to get a vasectomy, but we will wait a few years to make sure our kids are healthy. I always think of the rare cancers and diseases that can be helped with cord blood and if that ever happened and I needed to get pregnant again, I would. So I personally am waiting for any permanent birth control.

I would absolutely wait.  I was 27 when I gave birth to my twins and was certain we were done.  Here I am 38 pregnant with our third after years of infertility battle and IVF to get this one.  Your mind shifts in a very different way in your thirties I found,  especially as It got easy and my kids were getting older.  I would never make a decision that young.  The IvF  board is full of women now doing IVF after regretting getting a tubal 7-8 years after.

Getting your tubes tied isn't 100% fail proof and there are other ways to prevent. If you choose to have another one down the track its a lot easier to go off the pill then untie your tubes.
