Opks confusion

I am confused at the best time to have intercourse to conceive. According to the American pregnancy association the best time to have intercourse is the 3 days following positive opk, however all of these fertility apps claim sex the days preceding ovulation is best way to time. I know the recommendation to bd every other day mid cycle can help catch most fertile days but I feel like I am timing things wrong. I would be up for baby dancing every day pre positive opk and following, however I feel like my hubby is getting burnt out...
