Weird question...

Is it possible to not feel contractions? My whole family jokes around about how I probably won’t even feel them because I’ve always had a really high pain tolerance, I always laughed it off until I just had to go to L&D; and get monitored and they told me I was having contractions 5-10 mins apart and I literally didn’t feel not one of them! I’m scared because I live an hour from the hospital and I need something to let me know when to head in! TIA
