late, but spotting

Here is my newest development.. I am running about a week late on my period starting. I have however had a few instances of spotting which have kept me from taking a test because I thought it was going to start. First time was a bright pink, just a little bit. About 4 days in to being late. The second one was 6 days in and dark brownish and watery. And then 7 days in I was having quite a bit of pain/discomfort in my left ovary area and had bright red blood but it was very watery as well. That was Saturday and nothing since then. Any advice, should I see a doctor, take a test? Or just wait out aunt Flo who maybe is just playing the long game?
