anxiety? causing lightheadedness... help!

When I was in bio class in high school, and my teacher would be teaching about the circulatory system (the blood vessels, heart, etc.) and I would get so lightheaded I would have to put my head down, and I would feel sick for the rest of the day.

And since then I knew that I was really bad with blood - to the point of getting light headed when someone even just talks about it.

Recently (I am now in uni, so about two years has passed), I was supposed to get blood taken, but before the needle even went into my arm I was already getting light headed. She got the needle into my arm but because I was so lightheaded she was not able to continue or to get blood.

I think this is just being caused by anxiety surrounding needles and blood, but I have to get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I’m already having anxiety symptoms.

When I knew that I would be getting my wisdom teeth out, and I would be awake - with just IV, I was already panicking whenever I thought about it. But after the attempt to get my blood taken, I’ve also been stressing about the possibility passing out simply because of the needle of the IV.

I would love if anyone has any tips for reducing this kind of anxiety, thanks so much!
