I failed my English class.. help

So I failed my English class. My first one for college. I was taking 4 classes for the mini term (my first semester ever starting school) and also working a full time job. I guess I just put too much on my plate. Which isn’t really an excuse. But idk. I was doing fine at first and then my dad passed away and I got behind on work in English and stayed behind. I ended up failing. I’m so embarrassed and just angry with myself. I’ve never failed a class in my life. Like this really sucks.

All of my others I did pass at least.

Anyone have any advice to keep this from happening again? Have any of you ever failed a college class before? This sucks
