anyone here use a Doppler at home?

so today I went for a check up with my midwife and she listened to the baby's heart beat.... it's the first time I've heard it!!!!😍😍😍... when my partner and I went for our first scan the hospital didn't have the volume up so we never heard it... do any of you ladies have a Doppler you use at home? is it safe for the baby? is love the baby daddy to get to hear the heart while we wait for our next scan which isn't until September 6th.....

Yes! Just used mine a little bit ago. I love hearing baby's heartbeat and being reassured all is still okay.

It puts out a lot of ultrasound waves more than an ultrasound, I don’t feel comfortable exposing my baby to anything more than I have too there is a lot of info around you can look into, I’m not saying doing it here or there at appointments is super bad but I myself would never buy one and do it at home all the time

I use mine twice per day. My doctor told me to keep each session under 3 minutes and that we would be fine. The only risk he said was that they can cause anxiety due to babies hiding and what not.

Please don't use a home doppler for reassurance. There's lots of similar sounds going on, and what you may be hearing is the placenta not baby. They can be nice for fun use.

I use mine all the time! I love hearing his heart beat and him moving around. Sometimes it is hard to find the heartbeat because he’s hiding behind something which can be definitely worrisome but you’ll get the hang of it 💕 I usually find my son on my left side of pelvic area.

I used mine daily up until about 17 weeks. Now that I feel baby moving I don’t use it at all. The kicks are reassuring!
