Did breast feeding stop your periods?

Question

I've heard that breastfeeding can keep you from getting a period (my doctor has already warned that this does not always prevent pregnancy so I already know that part) but the thought of not having a period for even longer after I give birth would make me so happy haha. How long did you NOT have your period if you breast fed?

I had my son on May 18th and my period returned on June 24th and I was exclusively breastfeeding

My sister breastfed and didn't have her period until around 16 months postpartum when her baby started to wean

I didn't get a period until 11 months with my first daughter (breast fed until 18months) and I didn't get my period until 12 months with my second daughter (breastfed until 13 months)
