Halloween themed baby shower?

I was thinking since we can't really have a baby shower around the holidays because it's just too hectic that we can have one in oct. But then I was thinking to make it fun for both the female and males we could have a Halloween themed baby shower with costumes optional but encouraged. I think it will be fun and not your typical boring baby shower. What do you think? Too cheesy or a totally fun idea? I love Halloween and always have my family normally has a huge Halloween party every year back in Michigan but I live in Texas with my fiancé and all of his family. I know my family would love it but they sadly won't be able to make it.

I was thinking of doing the same thing my birthday is also in Oct so I'm not a 100 percent shore yet but I have three other kids so anytime after Oct is a no go due to all my Xmas shopping I will be having to do lol

That's what we're thinking of doing too. I love love Halloween. Hubby even proposed then so i freaked when I figured out it be the right time to do it

I talked to my SIL and she said to have it the Saturday after thanksgiving I definitely think that's just stupid no one is going to come every one is going to be out of town. I want to do something before the holidays! I don't think 28 to 30 weeks is too early considering holidays. Plus I want to be able to buy whatever we don't get at the shower. Anyone else having family saying it's too early?

I'm doing a fall/harvest theme a week before Halloween :) I love the fall and so does my hubby and there's so many cute ideas for Halloween/fall baby showers!

I went to one years ago. I thought it was strange and way more of a "party" than a shower.  People with really good costumes got more attention than the couple having a baby. Just not how I want to celebrate my baby. Maybe do a little pumpkin theme instead or something else fall themed.
