Jumping the gun? Need advice!

Just needing to vent and get advice from those who know! I went for my mid cycle scan today prior to IUI and only had one mature follicle (after taking letrozole 5 mg, which I had the same dose last IUI and got 3) and it’s on my left side which is the tube that is possibly blocked so we decided to cancel the IUI and we have an appointment to meet with the doctor on sept 6th to discuss IVF. Part of me feels like IVF would be jumping the gun because we’ve only done one IUI but at the same time I am so fed up with trying and trying and not getting a baby. PLUS my insurance covers 80% of IVF after the deductible has been met (which is has) so am I wrong for wanting to just get done what I feel will be necessary while it’ll cost less? Please advise!

I think you made the right choice. I would choose ivf also for probable better and faster results. Good luck!

We skipped to IVF after 3 failed IUIs, our clinic suggests 4 “natural” and 4 with hormones/meds. I wish we’d skipped sooner. IVF is harder on your body, but honestly both roads are a struggle if they don’t work IVF has much higher success rate - take advantage of your insurance and young(er) eggs 💓

I say no way are you jumping the gun! 
We just finished testing. I have a low AMH. Insurance will cover up to $20k except meds. My out of pocket is already met for the year and we are going straight to IVF. Haven’t done clomid or anything like that. Haven’t tried and IUI. Highly chance for us is IVF so that’s what we are doing while the cost is as low as possible. Meds are still $6500. But I’d rather pay that then the entire cost. Bay dust to you!

I mean if that’s what they’re suggesting than that’s what they think is gonna give you the best chance of getting pregnant. I say go for it. I’m the type of person who goes full force with everything lol so I would definitely do ivf in your situation

I'm in the same boat. 3rd round Clomid, 2nd IUI. If this month doesnt stick we will talk IVF. We are also at our deductible so I honestly feel like, why not at this point.

I have done 4 clomid IUI cycles and 2 letrozole & gonal f injections IUIs and they've all failed. I have no insurance coverage but i wish I would have went to IVF sooner... If I had coverage I would have.

You have to do what feels right to you. Everyone is different and the process is so demanding on us both physically and emotionally.
