Whose wrong? Me, or him?

My man and I are expecting our first child, my little brothers are also going to first time uncles- tonight sitting around the fire my man says to my brother(24) how he doesn’t feel that my brother is ready to be an uncle. Am I wrong to be upset with him for saying this to my brother in front of my parents? I personally feel the subject should be a private conversation between my man and I first or with a professional as my brother has not even had the chance to prove himself considering our baby isn’t due until October. Or am I overreacting?

That’s super weird honestly. Uncles don’t need to have any sort of readiness. I even know people who are younger than their nieces and nephews. I’d be super resentful if my SIL tried critiquing my behavior due to her reproductive decisions. 
Unless he’s in serious danger, your husband should mind his own business all together.

That seems kinda rude. Being an aunt or uncle doesnt require any preparation. I dont have any expections of my sister (21) I know she doesnt know anything about babies, but when he comes she will fall in love and the rest will fall onto place

Lol okay dude. Aunts and Uncles have no obligation or responsibility to their nieces and nephews. They don't have to be "ready to be an uncle" or aunt. It's not their kid. He's just being ignorant and I can understand that you're annoyed at that.

It’s a bit rude but unless you wanted him to be a godparent as well there isn’t much an aunt or uncle does. My sister is an aunt to my child and said she’s wanting him to be bigger so he’s more fun, which I understand esp since he doesn’t talk

I’ve never really heard of uncles or aunts having to be prepared some type of way? Unless I’m missing something. I would definitely address it in the privacy of your home so you can get the to bottom of what he meant. Maybe he’s projecting on your brother cause he’s not ready to be a dad?
