Anyone else only want one child?

My husband and I are thinking we only want one child, (I’m currently almost 38w pregnant) and when we mentioned this to his parents you would have thought we told them the most horrible news in the world. I don’t see an issue? We aren’t saying having another is totally out but at this time that’s not even on our minds. Thoughts?

People just like having dramatic reactions to anything regarding someone else having babies. People either want to tell you to stop having kids and act all mad that you’re pregnant.. Or they want to rush you to get pregnant, and get mad when you say you’re not having anymore kids. People just need to mind their business

There are lots of advantages to only having one child, hubby and I were talking about this only a couple of days ago. We’re still on the fence but the only people who know what is right for your family is the two of you. Will never understand why so many people think that they have a right to judge such personal decisions!

My husband and I had made that decision in March after having emergency surgery due to an ectopic! Made an appointment to start birth control and found out I was pregnant again at that appointment! I would definitely be on contraceptive or have a definite decision made!

My husband and I have been feeling the same way. A second isn’t totally out of the question, but so far, we both think we’ll be done after our little girl gets here. We’ve had a lot of people already trying to talk us into having a second one and trying to make us feel guilty about her being an only child.

I'm only having one. My husband has a daughter from his 1st marriage and after this baby is born he's getting a vasectomy.

Same. I hate when other people tell me I NEED to have more than one. I was an only child and loved it. I’ve even had someone say to me well what happens when you die, if you only have one child they’ll be all alone in the world. Like what?????? 🙄
