How can I ask for baby’s crib?

We’re using my spouses little brothers mini crib because our room is too small for a regular sized one. Well it’s been built for 4 or more months now and still sitting in my in laws room. I’m already 31 weeks pregnant and have been asking my spouse to ask his parents for the crib so I can figure out where I want to put it in our room. Every time I ask tho he always has an excuse not to ask them. It’s either “oh we don’t need it yet”, “it’s too late to ask”, “my dad has clothes in it”........and it bothers me because like I said I really want to figure out where I want it in our room and it’s literally piled up with his dads clothes in it.....is there any other way I can ask for this crib?
