Normal? (TMI)

Currently almost 5 weeks postpartum. I stopped bleeding for almost a week and it came back yesterday. TMI blood is dark red NOT bright red, with some uterus lining coming out, not really cramps seems like vaginal area is tender. I did tear during labor. Just want to know if it's normal for the blood to stop and then continue. I read and said it might be because I'm doing to much and my body is still healing.
