Could you lose a tampon inside of you?!

So I have a fear of getting TSS. I know that’s dumb, but I swear it scares tf out of me.

Anyways, yesterday I could have sworn I put a new tampon in. I may not have though. My memory is awful.

Then I went to take it out and nothing!! I felt all up in my vagina. I can feel my cervix, but no tampon. It couldn’t have gotten stuck up there somewhere out of reach could it have? This may be a stupid question but I’m a little worried
