Baby Shower Protocol???

Question

So I definitely want help with all the stuff it takes for a little person. But I thought we aren’t supposed to throw our own baby shower. I think my sister will take care of the family one at thanksgiving. But I have a ton of friends who live everywhere so I was thinking of having a virtual shower too. But how to even plan that or get someone else to? 
Suggestions?

I personally wouldn’t attend or throw a virtual shower but that’s just me. And there’s nothing wrong with planning your own shower
