Planned C section.

I am due in April, and had a previous daughter via c section because she was breech (due to umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck). None of the obgyns in my area preform vbacs, so it is mostly guaranteed that I will have another planned c section. My first was almost perfect, except for one thing. The (excuse my language) damn catheter. They refused to do one after my epidural was done, they would only do it before. Hours before at that. And it was such an excruciating and painful experience because at first, the nurse used the wrong size and it was way too big. But everyone I ask, and all these birth stories I see on my feed on here, they all mention the catheter (whether csection or just laboring vaginally) being preformed AFTER the epidural. Why did they refuse to do this last time? The nurse said it was the only way even though I was in tears. I have changed obgyns and hospitals for this pregnancy and I'm hoping to have it the other way this time. Any advice ladies? Which is the right way??? Thanks.
