Waiting to tell?

Am I the only one that thinks it’s strange when people wait to tell their husbands that they’re pregnant? I guess I just feel like they deserve to know as soon as you do, as it’s their baby too. I think if it was reversed, I’d be upset if that info was withheld from me. Buuuuut maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lol. I get where you're coming from. There was no way I would have been able to hide it long enough to plan anything special, but even if I could, I don't think my SO would appreciate it as much as me just saying it.
In our case, we had been trying for about 4 months. I had a break down when my period came again, because I had REALLY thought I was pregnant the 4th time. I had tested that morning, and brushed the negative off, like "it's too early" then my period showed up later that day and I was a mess, had to call into work, was depressed all day, and when we were getting ready for bed I said I couldn't take my prenatal right now; it's too much. We decided to take a break from trying for at least that month so I wouldn't get my hopes up again. I didn't take my prenatals for a whole week. So a month later, I hadn't been on this app at all and I realized my period is due... We buy another test. I wait until the next morning... I said I didn't want to take it, cuz I'm probably not pregnant anyway. My SO insists I go ahead and take it, so I do. 5 minutes later I walk out of the bathroom grinning and crying. I mean, I couldn't contain that emotion for a second; there's no way I would have been able to brush it off and tell them later. XD

I think it’s different for everyone. I told my boyfriend right away, but I think others like to set it up as like a gift. Maybe if they tried for a very long time, a birthday/anniversary/special day. I think if it’s weeks or months that’s a little much, but a few days wait is okay. Especially if they’ve suffered a mc or chemical and want to make sure it’s “real.”

Well there’s several reasons to wait.
1. Processing how you feel about the pregnancy. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean the pregnancy is planned or wanted.
2. Hoping to surprise hubby, especially if you’ve been trying for a long time.
3. Wanting to confirm pregnancy with your doc and make sure everything is safe, especially if you’ve had losses before.
4. It’s her body and therefore her choice as to when she shares information.
I mean, I don’t understand why anyone would feel the need to make a weird judgmental post about women waiting to tell their husband’s about pregnancy, but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was still sitting on the toilet staring at the very very faint second line when he walked into the bathroom to check on me :p that’s how MY husband found out haha

I got a vvvvvfl on a Friday night so i didn’t say anything then. Saturday morning it was a def more clear so that’s when i told hubby. But I can’t imagine having waited much longer

Yes I think it's strange! I do think surprising them with the info is cute but I would do it like right away. Both times my husband knew I was talking a test so not much surprise there 😂
