Flu shot?

Hi all.

Wo seeing about flu shot while pregnant? I am 33 and never had one...I have extreme sensitivity to most medications, so I have always just not taken due to fear it will cause more harm for me then good. Only had the flu maybe once as an adult. I know they recommend for pregnant ladies but concerned? Your thoughts on it?

When I had my daughter my doctor told me if you don't usually get it then there is no need to start just because you are pregnant.

I got it when pregnant with my daughter, I was around 8 weeks when I got it I believe. It was the shot without Mercury. I didn't get sick that winter. Since having my daughter (she's 4 now) I didn't get it for the first time last year and I was so very sick. So being pregnant, will most likely get it this time again.

I would recommend getting it. I had never had one either. I got the flu while pregnant in 2014. The fever was hard to control (you aren't supposed to get over 100.5 while pregnant), I was put on pneumonia watch, I couldn't eat, worst aches I've ever had. To top it off, my son had it too, so it was that much worse. I'm about 7 weeks now and I will never not get the flu shot again with my pregnancy. Also, Tamiflu hasn't been approved for pregnant women, but the risks to baby do to the flu outweighed the risks of what could happen to baby with Tamiflu. Either way, my daughters heart stopped beating almost a month later, at 34 weeks. They couldn't determine what happened and nothing concluded that it was due to the flu or Tamiflu. It's just a risk that I am not willing to take again.
