Irregular Periods

Ok so I got my first period about 4 years ago and my second one came about 3 months later. I was really concerned but I was told it was normal and that it’d even itself out but it still hasnt. Sometimes there’ll only be a month between periods and sometimes I’ll go 5 months. I never told anything be cause I was embarrassed that something might be wrong with me. I’ve also never gotten cramps or pretty much any other symptom of periods like nausea, mood swings, craving etc. just the bleeding. And when I do have my period they’re typically pretty light and about 3 days max. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
